There is a lack of Christian influence in the video game industry. Most people involved are not Christians and in many cases are anti-God all together. Instead of games made by God fearing developers, our children are playing games that avoid God and Godly concepts or even push people away from God. Even if Christians have a passion for video game development, they often give up early on simply because of the lack of Christian support in the industry.

I’m going to use the experience and knowledge I’m gaining now as a video game developer to create an online community where Christians with a passion for video games and Jesus can come to learn game development together.

To further this goal, I will travel to churches, offering entry level workshops to introduce Christians of all ages to the basics and help them take their first steps in video game development.

This would open a path for Christians to enter into the video game development industry with support and fellowship, eventually allowing Christians to be an influence in the lives of young and old gamers alike, many of whom the church has never been able to reach in a way that is relevant to them. My hope is that gamers may be meaningfully impacted through games developed by Christians who got started here.
